I knit a sweater.

That’s such a brag. I made something to keep me warm that is super fashionable and custom OUT OF STRING. It was even discount string! I’ve been a knitter since my early twenties, and it’s a hobby that I’ve really enjoyed. Sometimes I knit projects with my friend Sarah, and it’s been something that has brought us together over the years.

This sweater is the Carbeth. It was designed by Kate Davies and is a very popular and well loved pattern. If you search #carbeth on instagram you will be inundated with photos. It was a delight to knit. If you are a new knitter and want to knit this I’m here to help. It is overall easy but there are a few moments where the instructions are bare and you need a ‘knitting intuition’ to proceed. The results are worth the couple moments of insecurity… aka the moment you reattach the sleeves and realize you can knit all the way around your chest and both upper arms.
